Passing Out Bibles

On Tuesday morning July 25th I got to the airport and was met by the whole crew Bro Brooks, and all the GPBC guys, Bro Dick Chromy and Bro Darling. We proceeded straight to the first school. They said the school had 2000+ kids. When we got there we unloaded and waited for them to assemble all the kids. Most of the kids were able to get into the building tightly seated on the floor. The principle opened up the session, then Bro. Brooks explained the project followed by a local pastor Matt who preached to the kids for about 15min we then sang and  handed out Bibles to the kids plus a church bookmark and they were invited to the youth activity on Saturday.  
 The kids were enagged and focused on what was going on. Even though there were so many they paid attention and were happy about getting the Bibles. 

After that we went to another school. There were about 1400 kids at this school.  Unfortunately they had double booked us and had it not been for bulldog Allan we may have not been able to preach to these kids. He had us introduce ourselves in Pigeon and of course they all laughed. Then we sang to them. Bro. Brooks preached and they had a great time. We were able to hand out the Bibles, it was a lot of fun.

This morning after personal devotions and breakfast we had a devotion  Bro. Darling spoke and then we headed to our first school of about 3-400 students. These kids were engaged even though they were standing in the sun. We mingled with them for a little while after and then left for the next school a large Catholic school.  They did not have time for us today so we went back to the mission house that we are staying at.

Tonight we went to the Shilom Batist Church. The singing was wonderful and the people were very friendly. Bro. Brooks had us introduce ourselves and give a testimony.  Each of our guys saI'd that they came to PNG to be a blessing but felt that they were the ones being blessed. We then sang and then Bro. Brooks preached. We stayed for quite a while afterm and fellowshiped with them.   We are all very excited about what God is doing here.   We all want to say thank-you all for praying.  We can tell that the devil does not like what is going in and is trying to create difficulty and slow down the work.   We need to pray that God will open the doors and give Bro. Brooks favor with the school masters to assemble the kids.

PNG Time

This morning started in the usual PNG way, the 4 that were supposed to go to the school up in the mountains waited for a couple hours then found out that the road was too bad and could not go.    We did a little shopping and then after lunch went to the Catholic school.  The school was quite large, we handed out about 850 Bibles.  We did our usual intruductions, both Ob and Joe gave their testimonies. Pastor Hunter preached a clear gospel message. If there was one thing that was clear it was "you Can know right now that you are going to heaven" the kids were very receptive and listened well. After that we came back.    The boys went swimming for a while in the ocean, we then had supper and then off to church.  We went to Bro Neilish church and Brother Hunter came with his church to join us. We also had some first time visitors.     We sang there and Bro Brooks preached.  We had some fellowship and  came back. ...
